INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTHORS


 

Jack Askind (1967) – PhD in Philosophy (Bristol 2002), he works on epistemology, the methodology of science as well as cognitive sciences. Author of amongst others: “The Role of Concepts in Cognition” (2003), “On Scientific and Non-scientific Styles of Thinking” (2007).

 

Witold Bardziński (1955) – B.A. in Dance Studies at the College of Arts and Sciences in Kielce (2009), a student of the Postgraduate Dance Studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Author of a volume of verse entitled “The White Piano Tuners” (Gliwice 2009).

 

Jan Domański Berski (1938-1995) – dancer, ballet critic. Author of the books: “Ballet Colloquiums” and “The Theatre of Sound and Motion” (Bydgoszcz 1985).

 

Witold Bieganski - dancer, currently a soloist of The Grand Theatre in Lódź.

 

Kazimierz Dąbrowski (1902-1980) – Polish clinical psychologist, psychiatrist and philosopher, founder of the Theory of Positive Disintegration.

 

Irena Filozofówna (1906-1967) – later Irena Schiller, a psychologist and philosopher of the Lvov-Warsaw school, specializations: semiotics and theatre.

 

Teresa Grzybowska – Professor Ordinarius, art historian – specializations: modern European painting and sculpture; art from Gdańsk, Jacek Malczewski’s creativity, museology and collectivism, musical motifs in modern art. Author of the books: “Eros in Polish Art (Warsaw1993), “Jacek Malczewski’s World of Images” (Warsaw 1996), “Art and Politics. The Hall of the Great Council of the Main City Hall in Gdańsk (Warsaw 2003).

 

Anna Krzyśków - dancer and choreographer, M.A.in Pedagogy,, currently head of the ballet at The Grand Theatre in Lódź.

 

Tadeusz Kobierzycki (1947) –  dr hab. Professor of Philosophy at the Frederic Chopin University of Music (Warsaw) and Professor of  Psychology at Trnavska Univerzita (Bratislava) (since 1999). Author of the books: “The Philosophy of Personality. From the Ancient Theory of the Soul to the Modern Theory of the Person” (Warsaw 2001), “Beyond Love and Freedom. The Psychological Dependency Syndrome” (Warsaw 1992, 2009, English edition Warsaw 2009).

 

Karolina Kuliga - dancer, teacher, M.A. in pedagogy, currently a teacher at the Cracow Academy of Dance.

 

Filip Maj (1979) – M.A. in Philosophy (2005), a volunteer assistant at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Author of book: “An Introduction of Henri Bergson’s Philosophy of Creativity” (Warsaw 2008), publisher and editor-in-chief of HEKSIS.

 

Jacek Nowosielski – dancer, choreographer and educator, currently a soloist of ballet at the Gliwicki Musical Theatre

 

Dariusz Perszko (1965) – PhD in Psychology, works at the Guidance and Counseling Clinic in Pulawy, since 1999, a lecturer in psychology at Tranvska Univerzita (Bratislava).

 

Wilhelm Stekel (1868-1940) – Austrian physician and psychoanalyst, founder of active psychoanalysis.

 

Henryk Tomaszewski (1919-2001) – aka Karl Heinrich Koenig, founder, director and artistic director of the Wrocław Mime Theatre, an actor, mime, dancer, choreographer and director.

 

Walentyna Węgrzyn-Klisowska – musicologist, PhD in the Humanities, Professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Academy of Music in Wroclaw. Author of amongst others: “Music Life in Legnica” (Warsaw 2003), “The Baroque Opera Theatre in Wroclaw from 1725 to 1734” (Wrocław 2007).

 

Elizabeth Wiśniewska – dancer, M.A. in Pedagogy, organizer of dance productions at the Academy Forms and the “Odoriko” Dance.
